Jenn is a Ph.D. student in the Microbiology & Immunology program at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor.
Her research in the Dickson lab focuses on the intersection of the microbiome and acute lung injury, including the impact of the microbiome on the pathogenesis of oxygen-induced lung injury and how the radically different ecology of acutely injured lungs facilitates respiratory dysbiosis. Before coming to Michigan, Jenn received her B.S. in Science Education from Indiana Wesleyan University, where she worked in the lab of Dr. Matthew Sattley to analyze the genomes of psychrophilic bacteria from the McMurdo Dry Valleys of Antarctica. When she’s not in the lab, you can find Jenn hiking, reading anything science-related, taking care of her indoor jungle of plants, or trying out new recipes with her friends.
